Witney Guitar Club 'January Jam’ #6 - Meet James
We asked the Guitarists from the Tuesday Group of Witney Guitar Club some questions about themselves. Here's their response
‘January Jam’ #6
Meet Witney Guitar Club Member - James - who has been with the club since it began in 2024.
What Instruments Do You Play?
Acoustic Guitar
What’s the best concert you’ve ever attended?
Radiohead (secret gig) at Jericho Tavern 1994. The audience sang all of 'Creep' while Thom Yorke held the mic out for the crowd. I went to many gigs at the Jericho. It was good time to be into music and bands.
Have you ever played a live gig?
As part of the MuzoAkademy that used to be in Witney I have sung and played, everyone was encouraged to write and play their own songs, we all wrote Christmas songs and showcased them at the Langdale Hall. They also made it to a Christmas Cd.
Have you ever played a bad gig?
I like loads of different music. I do like songs with meaningful lyrics. If you asked me today what I’m listening to, it’s a song on Richard Ashcroft's new album "Lovin’ you" track 2 'Out of These Blues' (have a listen)
What music styles do you like to play?
What’s your favourite Witney Guitar Club song that we have played?
'Bonfire Heart' (James Blunt)
It’s an hour and a half spent playing in good company with Brian’s enthusiasm leading the group, it definitely has improved my playing.

I’ve never seen a James Bond Film
