Louise Conroy
SLE (Specialist Leader in Education) for Music
Louise has taught in primary schools in Oxfordshire for over 30 years, including providing training for non-music specialist teachers for Oxfordshire’s County Music Service.
Having trained with The Association of British Choral Directors, tutored by Amy Bebbington and Sarah Tenant-Flowers, she has also conducted partnership school choirs across Oxfordshire, performing both regionally (Dorchester Abbey) and nationally (Wembley Arena) and has been Musical Director for many school productions including A Christmas Carol, The Wizard of Oz, Hosanna Rock and Joseph and The Amazing Techni-color Dreamcoat.
In 2011, with husband, Brian, Louise created the ‘West Oxfordshire Academy of Performing Arts’ (WOAPA) – a thriving children’s theatre school in Witney, which included the very successful 'WOAPA Adult Singing Group' (now re-named 'Witney Vocals' Choir).
Since 2014, Louise has sung Handel’s ‘Messiah’ with TRBC, each November, at The Royal Albert Hall, London and delights in the opportunity to enthuse others about the craft of choral singing, via The Conroy Collective.
In 2015, Louise was awarded a 'Special Certificate of Recognition' by Witney's Town Mayor for her achievements in the local community.
In 2025, Louise and her husband, Brian, sold WOAPA to free up some time to concentrate on The Conroy Collective.
She continues to conduct the Adult Singing groups 'Witney Vocals' - with currently over 100 members and is working on a new 'pop-up' choir: ‘Vocal In Your Local’, for which, she is the conductor..
Louise is a KS1 & KS2 Singing teacher, collaborating with schools to produce high-quality experience of singing for children of Primary school age, often organising concerts for parents to enjoy seeing their children sing as a group.
Louise also teaches piano to children on a 1-2-1 basis in schools.
