Meet Witney Guitar Club Member - Graham - who has been with the club since it began, in 2024.
What Instruments Do You Play?
Guitar, both acoustic and electric, which I much prefer!
What’s the best concert you’ve ever attended?
Many over the years, but The Proclaimers, OMD and Bruce Springsteen live on in my memory.
Have you ever played a live gig?
Not yet ......
Have you ever played a bad gig?
A bad gig would likely be my first gig! 🤣
Which artist/band/genre(s) do you like to listen to?
A wide range from Genesis, Fleetwood Mac, Pink Floyd, Eagles, 80s synth pop, David Gray, Amy Macdonald.. and even a bit of Taylor Swift!
What music styles do you like to play?
Pop and rock mainly.
What is your favourite Witney Guitar Club song that we play?
Prism in Jeans by Richard Hawley - I can manage the TAB on that one.!
What do you like most about The Witney Guitar Club?
The weekly classes provide some motivation and structure to my playing, with a friendly bunch of guys.
What tips would you tell your younger self, just starting out to play?
What tips would you tell your younger self, just starting out to play?
Don't worry too much about barre chords as a beginner... there's always an easier triad alternative.
Tell us something about yourself that people may not know
I'm pretty good at music quizzes. As a teenager in the late 70s I used to win a lot of phone-in competitions on the Kenny Everett show on Capital Radio. I still have many of the LPs that I won. PS Don't tell anyone but I found a hack to be one of the first on the line when the competition went live. 😉
Any plans for 2026?
Find more ways to play guitar with different people as that's a great way to improve.
